Offset just shook up everyone on Saturday after he posted and quickly deleted an Instagram Story joking about Georgia’s paternity laws. His story said, “My kid lol,” right after reports claimed the law could list him as the legal father of Cardi B and Stefon Diggs’ newborn since he and Cardi are still married.

A parody of Shannon Sharpe’s account shared a screenshot and pointed out how quickly Offset removed it.

Georgia law states that if a woman is married, her husband is automatically considered the father of any child born during the marriage, unless someone challenges this in court. That rule is confusing, even though Diggs can officially claim the baby through a legal process called legitimation. For now, Cardi is the only person who can make decisions for the newborn.
