Princeton was moments away from making history.
Joanna Hou entered the match for the Tigers as they sat a few points away from another state title.
The three other core Princeton seniors - Kaelin Bobetich, Naomi Lygas, and Charlotte Woods - were already on the court. The four looked at each other and knew that this could have been it for them.
Their final minutes together on the same court.
Leading 20-15 over Millburn on Sunday, Nov. 16 in the NJSIAA/Wilson Group 3 state championship, Woods was at the serving line. She sent it over the net as Princeton and Millburn rallied for its longest possession of the day. The ball went over the net an excruciating nine times.
Lygas bumped it to Bobetich, who sent it right back to the senior outside hitter for one last swing during this point.
