An illegal migrant couple who travelled from Manhattan to Long Island last week to shoplift from a Target store were caught and handed over to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), officials speaking to the New York Post said.
On Sunday, November 9, Gustavo Tellez Carillo, 36, and his girlfriend, Erika Gomez Moreno, 33, tried to shoplift an undisclosed amount of merchandise from the store in Westbury.
Nassau County police apprehended them after being called to the scene around 7:30pm. After conducting a short investigation, the Nassau County cops discovered that the couple was in the country illegally.
The authorities did not reveal what country the pair is from originally.
