From the editor: Recalling the night I was Ken Burns' stand

Ionce found myself standing in — for a few moments, anyway — for Ken Burns.

It was an October night more than 25 years ago before a preview screening of "Not for Ourselves Alone: The Story of Elizabeth Cady Stanton & Susan B. Anthony," Burns' documentary on two leaders of the women's suffrage movement that filmed at area locations, including Genesee Country Village and Museum in Mumford.
