A former employee with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection pleaded guilty last month to providing a drug-laced paper to a federal prison inmate at FMC Devens, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

In turn, the inmate was granted clemency in January, reducing his 2022 federal prison sentence on drug distribution charges.

Tasha Hammock, 43, the former state employee, pleaded guilty to providing contraband to a prison inmate. She is accused by federal authorities of providing a form of a synthetic cannabinoid, also known as “K2,” to the inmate.

Hammock was originally indicted in March 2025 with co-conspirator Raymond Gaines, who is a federal inmate at FMC Devens and his case remains pending.
