COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Law enforcement is investigating after a shooting involving a Larimer County deputy early Sunday morning.
According to the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), a deputy attempted a traffic stop at 2:32 a.m. near Grand Market Avenue and TPC Parkway in Berthoud.
LCSO said the driver refused to comply and quickly drove away. The deputy performed a Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to stop the vehicle on Highway 60 just east of I-25.
The suspect then allegedly accelerated towards the deputy, and the deputy fired his service weapon.
LCSO said the deputy only had minor injuries and was treated and released from the hospital. The suspect also only had minor injuries and was taken into custody after being treated at the hospital.
