BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. —

Buncombe County Communications and Public Engagement say emergency crews are responding to a brush fire in a part of the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Officials say the fire is between Rattlesnake Lodge and Ox Creek and that all visitors have been asked to leave the area.

Officials remind people that open burning is highly discouraged during this time. Burning of all material is always prohibited where there is public pickup for yard waste, including the City of Asheville and other municipalities.
