The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory at 1:34 p.m. on Sunday in effect until Monday Nov. 17, at 4 p.m. for the Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

The NWS Reno NV adds to be ready for, “Additional snow accumulations up to 9 inches to 12 inches above 6500 feet. At lake level and below 6500 feet, expect 2 to 6 inches of additional snowfall. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph along the ridges, with gusts up to 30 mph at lake level.”

“Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches,” according to the NWS. “Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.”
