A 42-year-old woman died Saturday evening after she was struck by a pickup truck in Ancaster.

She is the second pedestrian killed in a traffic collision within about 48 hours in the city.

Two days earlier, on Thursday, Nov. 13, 52-year-old Keith Brewster died after he was hit by a dump truck at around 2:30 p.m. It was just prior to the start of his shift as a crossing guard at the Mohawk Road East and Upper Wentworth Street intersection.

Saturday’s collision happened at about 5:20 p.m., according to a news release from Hamilton police. It said the woman was taken by paramedics to “a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries” and died.

Police said the woman was hit on Wilson Street West near McClure Road.
