SALT LAKE CITY — Canadian speedskater Valerie Maltais picked up two World Cup silver medals on the final day of competition on Sunday.

Maltais of Saguenay, Que., finished in eight minutes 25.62 seconds to place second in the women's mass start.

Mia Manganello of the United States (8:25.57) grabbed gold and South Korea's Ji-Woo Park (9:01.80) took bronze.

In the women's team pursuit, Maltais, alongside Ivanie Blondin and Isabelle Weidemann, both of Ottawa, earned silver with a time of 2:52.40.

Japan (2:52.13) won gold, while the Americans (2:54.01) got bronze.

Antoine Gélinas-Beaulieu of Sherbrooke, Que., earned himself a bronze in the men's mass start, the final event of the day. His time of 7:40.31 was only bested by Jorrit Bergsma of the Netherlands (7:39.20) and Felix Maly of Germa
