LEAGUE CITY, Texas – A man has been arrested and charged after a brief standoff with officers.
Jamane Herod, 34, has since been charged with aggravated asault with a deadly weapon, unlawful restraint and four counts of unlawful restraint of a child under the age of 17.
On Saturday, around 5:30 p.m., officers with the League City Police Department responded to reports of a disturbance in the 2200 block of Golden Sails Drive.
When officers arrived, they found Herod’s wife, who said her husband was inside their home with their children and had just fired a gun outside of the residence during an argument.
When Herod exited the home, officers said he had the child in his arms along with a pistol on his right hip. He then refused to surrender to officers and went back inside the home.
