LA VERKIN, Utah — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car late Saturday night in southern Utah.

La Verkin Police said a man was crossing State Route 9 (State Street) near 100 South around 11:15 p.m. when he was struck.

First responders rendered first aid and took him to St. George Regional Hospital, where he died from his injuries.

The cause and details behind the crash are under investigation.
