The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday confirmed that the explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort Metro Station which killed at least 10 people and injured several others was a suicide attack. According to the agency, the blast was carried out using a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device (IED) driven by Dr Umar un Nabi.
During the investigation into the Delhi terror attack, the NIA on November 16, arrested Amir Rashid Ali, a resident of Samboora, Pampore in Jammu and Kashmir. He is accused of conspiring with suicide bomber Nabi to carry out the attack. Ali, in whose name the car involved in the attack was registered, was arrested from Delhi by the NIA.
