New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, on Sunday, announced that three metro stations in the Pitampura area would be given new names. The Chief Minister, during her Shresth Bharat Sampark Yatra in Delhi's Haiderpur Village, declared that the government's move is a bid to reflect the local identity of the metro station that the residents would cherish.

As per the information, the proposed Uttari Pitampura station, situated in the QU block, will now be known as Uttari Pitampura‑Prashant Vihar Metro Station, which will be a nod to the nearby residential neighbourhood. The forthcoming Pitampura North station will be called Haiderpur Village Metro Station, which will honour the villagers who hosted the Yatra on Sunday, while the existing Pitampura station will be renamed Madhuban Chowk
