MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Three pets were rescued and one died in a house fire on Saturday night, Lakeside Fire & Rescue confirmed Sunday.

The fire was reported around 8:15 p.m., Saturday night at a home on West Fulton Street in the city of Edgerton.

Officials say they received a call from a passerby who said they saw flames over the roof, coming from the back of the house.

Lakeside Fire Rescue sent units from both Edgerton and Milton to the residence.

First responders arrived at the house within five minutes and confirmed there was a fire through the roof of the back of the home.

The fire was upgraded to a Mutual Aid Box Alarm System (MABAS), which brought in additional assistance from both Janesville and Stoughton Fire Departments. Additionally, the Town of Turtle Fire Department was b
