BLACK EARTH, Wis. (WKOW) — Dylan Helmenstine officially announced his candidacy for Wisconsin State Treasurer on Saturday at his family farm in rural Dane County.
The State Treasurer is responsible for promoting the state's unclaimed property program, school trust funds, and serving on the Board of Commissioners of Public Lands.
Wisconsin Heights School Board President Barb Stotz praised Helmenstine for his leadership and dedication to rural communities. Helmenstine, a member of the local school board, village board, and EMS district, emphasized his campaign's roots in the values he learned growing up in Black Earth.
"I've been working hard to find solutions to the issues in our community and to open doors to the new opportunities ahead," Helmenstine said.
