The Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners honored West Amwell resident Brian Moore for growing the world’s tallest sunflower at a stunning 35 feet, 9 inches.

Moore, a plant breeder, developed the seed that grew into the huge sunflower, which was officially certified by Guinness World Records.

“Brian Moore’s passion and ingenuity embody the very best of Hunterdon County’s agricultural tradition,” Commissioner Director John E. Lanza said in a statement.

“His world-record sunflower began right here in our community, and it stands as a testament to innovation, collaboration, and the pursuit of excellence in agriculture. We are proud to celebrate his accomplishments.”
