NEW YORK -- Lucas Raymond scored with 3:47 remaining in the third period, and the Detroit Red Wings extended their point streak to three games, defeating the New York Rangers 2-1 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
Raymond took the puck through the right face-off circle and around the net into the left circle before skating between the hash marks, causing Rangers goalie Jonathan Quick to lose his balance, and roofed the Red Wings' 41st shot of the night into the top right corner.
Alex DeBrincat scored his fifth goal in three games, and Cam Talbot made 18 saves for the Red Wings (11-7-1), who are 2-0-1 since losing three games in a row in regulation from Nov. 4-9.
