AKRON, Ohio — An Akron man convicted last month of murder and other charges in connection with a fatal stabbing in 2024 has been sentenced to life in prison.
Dareeque Dorman, 37, will be eligible for parole after 24 years, Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said in a news release. Dorman was found guilty by a Summit County jury of one count of murder, two counts of felonious assault and one count of tampering with evidence for the death of Gregory McMullen, 36, of Akron.
“This case is a reminder of how quickly violence can change lives,” Kolkovich said in a statement. “Gregory was deeply loved, and while no outcome can undo that loss, we hope today offers his family and friends some peace as they begin to heal.”
McMullen died in the stabbing in May 2024 at his home on the 800
