Market Today: The domestic equity market sustained its positive momentum for the fifth consecutive day and ended the day with decent gains on Monday. The BSE Sensex climbed 388.17 points to settle at 84,950.95, while the NSE Nifty rose 103.40 points to close above the 26,000 mark at 26,013.45.

Among sectors, almost all the major sectoral indices traded in the positive territory, but financial services and PSU bank indices outperformed, gaining over 1 per cent.

In the broader markets, the BSE Midcap and the BSE Smallcap indices rose by 0.66% and 0.59%, respectively.

Among the 30 Sensex shares, 20 ended the day in green. Among the top gainers were Eternal, Maruti, Kotak Mahindra Bank, M&M, and Tech Mahindra rising by up to 1.94%.
