AHWATUKEE, AZ (AZFamily) — One year after 15-year-old Jaylen Reeves was stabbed to death in Ahwatukee, his family and friends gathered at Mountain Vista Park to remember him and continue their push for justice.
Reeves was killed in the early morning hours of Nov. 16, 2024, following a fight between two groups of teenagers near Chandler Boulevard and 40th Street .
“We shouldn’t have to only reference photos and videos from the past to be able to feel his warmth again,” said Jaylen’s Aunt Reba Reeves.
Reba described her nephew as a football-loving teenager who was a ball of joy and overall a great presence to be around.
