PHILADELPHIA − There was little chance that A.J. Brown's frustration would be cured on a cold and windy night that made throwing difficult for both the Eagles and the Detroit Lions .
The Eagles tried getting the ball to Brown, targeting him 11 times. And he did have 7 catches for 49 yards, both team highs.
But this was a night for the defense. And the Eagles' unit was better as Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis each deflected two Jared Goff passes, helping the Eagles pull out a 16-9 victory on Nov. 16. Buy Philadelphia Eagles tickets
The Eagles improved to 8-2, despite scoring just 26 points, total, in their last two games in wins over NFC North teams. They beat the Packers 10-7 in Green Bay on Nov. 10.
But it was hardly a thing of beauty with wind gusts up to 25 mph affecting passes.
