SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Last season Pierre made it to the DakotaDome with a record of 7-5, and lost by just one point.
The Governors 6-3 regular season record earned their spot in the Class 11AA state championship this year where Pierre beat Yankton 56-35.
A team they had lost to at the end of September.
This game was back and forth, including tied just before halftime.
Until Cooper Terwilliger hauled in the go ahead TD and Pierre was able to stay ahead.
This touchdown came on the final play of the first half.
Steve Steele, Pierre head coach said, “We want to be aggressive that’s kind of what our message was mid season we felt like we didn’t start the season aggressive and that was an aggressive play, we wanted to force them to punt the ball, and why not.”
