CLEMSON, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - The Clemson University Police Department (CUPD) reported a robbery on Friday night.
Officers said the incident happened at 8:50 p.m. in the area between the Strom Thurmond Institute and the Watt Family Innovation Center on campus.
According to police, the suspect approached two students on a bench and started a conversation with them. During the conversation, the suspect attempted to hit one of the students and rob him. When the student tried to defend himself and his personal items, the suspect assaulted him, stole his cellphone charger and power bank and ran away. The student was evaluated by EMS and released on scene.
Clemson University police said that the suspect was taken into custody by law enforcement on Saturday, and that the investigation remains
