Old Dominion tightened its grip in the final minute to escape with a 56–53 victory over William & Mary on Sunday afternoon at Kaplan Arena, extending the Monarchs’ winning streak to three. In a tense back-and-forth finish, ODU relied on late free throws, defensive stops, and a clutch three-pointer from Simaru Fields to secure the road win.

The Monarchs trailed 53–51 entering the final two and a half minutes after a William & Mary jumper, but Simone Cunningham drew a foul and calmly hit both free throws to even the score. Moments later, Fields connected from deep to give ODU the final lead of the day. The Tribe earned a final look with one second remaining, but the potential game-tying shot missed, sealing Old Dominion’s hard-earned victory.
