ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - Sunday marks six months since the devastating May 16 tornado. While recovery efforts continue and many have been able to rebuild, parts of the city appear untouched.
Fountain Park is one of the neighborhoods in north city hit the worst by the EF-3 tornado.
“I saw there was a storm in the forecast, but we just never could’ve imagined that it would’ve been what we ultimately know now that it was,” said Amir Brandy, a resident in Fountain Park for over a decade.
Brandy says on May 16, he was at work when the tornado ripped through his home.
“I was looking at roofs in the street, trees down that were uprooted, traffic was backed up everywhere,” recalled Brandy, “When I made it home, I couldn’t believe the amount of damage this area sustained.”
