The Portland Winterhawks go 3-for-3 for the weekend, overcoming some bad 3rd period luck to stave off a comeback by the Wenatchee Wild.

Portland led 4-0 halfway through the 3rd, but some wackiness ensued, bringing the Wild within 4-3. It took a nice play by Alex Weiermair to finish an empty net goal and get Portland out of trouble.

18-year-old goalie Cruz Chase got the first win of his WHL career, stopping 33 of 36.

A successful weekend for the Winterhawks, sandwiching two home wins over the Wild with a road upset of the once-again-top-ranked Everett Silvertips.
