Ron Jandoli scored the first goal in Brick Memorial boys soccer history, and he never minded relaying that fun fact to anyone who cared to listen, for the first, second or 20th time.
He moved from his proud days as a Mustang to play for Elon University in North Carolina. As a Division 1 athlete in that sport, Ron had not problem playfully chastising fellow members of the company softball team about their inferior athletic abilities.
Ron loved his days as a soccer player and was rightfully proud of all he’d accomplished in that sport.
But not half as proud as he was of his work at covering it, and later promoting some of the greatest schoolboy soccer stars New Jersey has ever seen. Playing the sport satisfied Ron’s competitive nature. Writing about that game and the other sports he cover
