New Delhi|Nov, 17 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday expressed deep sadness over the tragic accident in Medinah, Saudi Arabia, where a bus carrying Indian Umrah pilgrims collided with a diesel tanker, killing at least 42 people, mostly from Hyderabad.
“My thoughts are with the families who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the swift recovery of all those injured,” Modi said in a post on handle X.
The bus was from Mecca to Medinah when the accident occurred, with reports indicating that most passengers were asleep at the time of the crash.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar also expressed shock, assuring that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh and Consulate in Jeddah are providing full support to affected families.
