The Rashtriya Janata Dal’s first family is in the middle of an unprecedented internal conflict. A day after Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya quit politics and distanced herself from the family, her public decision triggered a chain reaction on Sunday when four of her sisters also left Patna.

The crisis began after Rohini, who lives in Singapore, took to X late Saturday to declare that she was withdrawing from politics and cutting ties with her family. Her post came hours after the Mahagathbandhan, led by the RJD, suffered a major electoral setback in Bihar. In her message, she wrote: “I’m quitting politics and I’m disowning my family… This is what Sanjay Yadav and Rameez had asked me to do… and I’m taking all the blame.”
