Set amongst this large woodland in the middle of Wales, you'll find a picturesque walking route which offers all the views and none of the strenuous hike.
Halfren Forest has gained a bit of a buzz as keen walkers begin to flock to the area and see it for themselves. Close by to Llanidloes and named after the River Severn as Afon Hafren, this spot offers scenic trails with an accessible boardwalk.
The river itself flows peacefully through the forest and offers a number of beautiful waterfalls and cascades. Freshwater fish travel along its clear waterways, and a variety of wildlife lives among the trees, including a number of rare birds sighted.
