Canada Geese were once considered iconic symbols for millions of Canadians, but that image has deteriorated over the years as the birds increasingly damage crops, lawns, golf courses, and green spaces across the Okanagan Valley and beyond.
Kate Hagmeier, coordinator of the Okanagan Valley Goose Management Program, has spent years addressing the problems caused by these birds in the region. She discussed the issue and ongoing mitigation efforts during a presentation to Summerland council Wednesday.
