MEMPHIS, Tenn. - A man was arrested for attempted first-degree murder after shooting into a car, injuring multiple people, the Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) said.

32-year-old Waltez Jones was arrested on warrants for attempted first-degree murder and employment of a firearm with intent to commit a felony.

According to the task force, on November 14, 2024, a woman, a man, and two minors were riding in a car when another car, allegedly being driven by Jones, began to fire shots at their car. Jones was a former partner of the woman. The victims' car crashed while trying to dodge the gunfire.

The woman was shot multiple times, and the two minors were injured from shattered glass from bullets hitting the car, the task force said. They were all released from the hospital in stable condition.
