For the past few weeks, national parks across the country have been operating with only a fraction of their usual staff.

Now that the U.S. shutdown is finally over, rangers are back to work. However, the NPS is still experiencing a staffing shortage, as data from the National Park Conservation Association suggests that parks are now operating with 24% fewer permanent staff members.
