Decision day is approaching for Gleyber Torres .
The free-agent second baseman must decide Tuesday, Nov. 18, whether to accept or decline the one-year, $22.025 million qualifying offer from the Detroit Tigers . The deadline is 4 p.m. for all 13 players who received the qualifying offer, including Torres .
If he accepts, he returns to the Tigers for the 2026 season and can become a free agent again for next season. If he declines, he remains a free agent, with the Tigers receiving a compensatory draft pick once he signs elsewhere. (A contract of $50 million or more would land the Tigers a pick just ahead of the second round; less than that, and it would be a pick just before the third round.)
