CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Most of us can still remember what it felt like to be a teenager trying to balance it all.
We juggled schoolwork that never seemed to end, sports or band practice that stretched late into the afternoon, a social life, and—if we were lucky—a part-time job that helped pay for gas, a movie ticket or the college fund we hoped would carry us out into the world.
Those jobs mattered. They taught us how to show up, how to follow through, how to contribute to something bigger than ourselves. But they were supposed to fit into the puzzle of a well-rounded life — not overwhelm it. A teenager’s job was never meant to come at the expense of homework or the time every kid needs to figure out who they are.
