Confident Rangers striker Youssef Chermiti has revealed he is targeting a place in Portugal's World Cup squad next summer. ‌

The former Everton youngster has been criticised for a slow start to his Rangers career after just one goal in 13 overall appearances , although he's only started six games. ‌

He's on international duty with Portugal Under 21s, who are leading Scotland's group and play in the Czech Republic on Tuesday. ‌

And he's determined to catch the eye of Portugal boss Roberto Martínez and win a shock place in the squad for the USA, Canada and Mexico finals.

Chermiti said: "My goal is to reach the senior national team and I will continue to do my work to achieve it. I am waiting for my opportunity to arrive.
