LOUISVILLE, Ky. — A piece of southern Indiana history has returned to its glory while celebrating a remarkable milestone.

The Town of Clarksville held an illumination ceremony on Saturday for its iconic Colgate Clock ahead of its upcoming 101st anniversary on Monday.

The piece of local history at Clarks Landing, formerly Colgate, has remained in the dark for a number of years.

Now that the re-lighting of the clock has taken place, The Town of Clarksville calls it a shining symbol of heritage, pride and progress.

“What an extraordinary night celebrating 101 years of our iconic Colgate Clock and seeing it working once again,” they said in a Facebook post.

Town of Clarksville officials say they are continuing a partnership with Clarks Landing and Weyland Ventures.
