Popular folk singer and newly elected MLA from Bihar’s Alinagar , Maithili Thakur, shared a video of her singing a Tamil track, ‘Kannaana Kanney’ from the 2018 film 'Viswasam', starring Ajith Kumar.

In her post, she said her throat was “not fully okay” but added that she wanted to sing a few lines anyway, especially since a Tamil cover she recorded five years ago has begun circulating again on social media. She also credited the original rendition to singer Sid Sriram, composer D Imman and lyricist Thamarai.

My throat isn’t fully okay right now, but one of my five-year-old Tamil cover song video is going viral again on Twitter/ social media. So I thought I’d sing a couple of lines for you anyway.
