New Delhi: East Bengal are off to a bright start in the 2025-26 AFC Women’s Champions League after their 3-1 win in group stage opener over Iran’s Bam Khatoon in Wuhan, China, on Monday.
Clubbed in Group B with defending champions China’s Wuhan Jiangda and Uzbekistan’s PFC Nasaf and Bam Khatoon, the Indian Women’s League champions scored through Shilky Hemam, Fazila Ikwaput and Resty Nanziri to collect the maximum three points.
The win would be a big boost for East Bengal’s hopes of advancing to the qurter-finals as they now prepare to face Wujhan in the next group game on November 20.
