LARAMIE — Leland Walker wanted to forget Tuesday night.
Six turnovers. Zero buckets.
"Everybody has (a memorable game for the wrong reasons),” University of Wyoming coach Sundance Wicks said Thursday. “The games that you want to forget, you seem to remember all the time. That's the curse of being a competitor.”
Walker remembered Tuesday and worked to right his wrongs.
The work appeared Saturday as Walker’s 15 points paced the Cowboys to a 93-56 win over Portland at the Arena-Auditorium.
UW moved to 4-0 for the first time since 2021-22, when it started 8-0.
“(My response was) just getting in the gym and being more confident,” Walker said. “First couple games was a bad stretch, but just coming out confident and ready to go.”
