A cold air mass is bringing gusty northwest winds to the Lehigh Valley on Monday, following brief morning snow flurries.
Temperatures are running below normal under mostly sunny skies, and residents can expect windy conditions with gusts up to 30 to 35 mph.
That’s after wind gusts on a blustery Sunday peaked at 58 mph at 11:33 a.m. at Lehigh Valley International Airport, according to the National Weather Service .
The weather service forecast indicates west to northwest winds will continue to be strong early Monday, diminishing to 15 to 25 mph amid the gusts through late morning.
A brief period of sprinkles and flurries passed through the region around dawn, with little to no accumulation. Temperatures will struggle to reach the mid to upper 40s.
