A 20-year-old woman lost her life in a tragic accident at Sawant Park Chowk in the Jambe area near the Life Republic housing society on Monday around 1.15 pm. She was hit and run over by a speeding dumper, whose driver fled with the vehicle immediately after the incident.

The victim has been identified as , a resident of Muktanand Heights on Hinjewadi–Dange Chowk Road. She was riding a two-wheeler with her father, Siddheshwar Laxman Sakhre, when the dumper (MH 14 HU 9855) rammed into them. Tanvi died on the spot, while her father sustained minor injuries and received first aid.

Police said the accident occurred when their two-wheeler entered Sawant Park Chowk from the R-16 Kolte Patil New Circle area. The dumper driver escaped before anyone could intervene.
