Another day, another BravoCon bombshell.
During a Nov. 16 panel at the annual reality television-palooza, Andy Cohen revealed the inaugural trailer for "Real Housewives of Rhode Island," the latest spinoff in a near 20-year-old franchise.
The show, which will premiere in 2026, will bring its time-honored format of following the lives of affluent middle-aged women, to the elite shores of Rhode Island. The ribbon-cutting for the season coincides with the 20th anniversary of the "Housewives" franchise, which upended the reality television industry.
The trailer reveals a stacked cast including Alicia Carmody, Rosie DiMare and former "Bachelor" and "Bachelor in Paradise" star Ashley Iaconetti. Liz McGraw, Rulla Nehme Pontarelli, Kelsey Swanson, Jo-Ellen Tiberi and former "Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Dolores Catania are also joining the franchise.
The teaser, running just over three minutes, previews picturesque coastal views, extreme wealth and plenty of drama. Hinging on the idea that Rhode Island, the smallest state by area in the U.S., is tiny but mighty, the show promises to bring viewers inside the complicated world of its cutthroat social scene.
"In Rhode Island, everyone knows everyone," the trailer opens.
The arrival of the franchise in the state is already making waves. Following the announcement in May, Rhode Island Gov. Dan McKee praised the decision.
"We’re excited to welcome 'The Real Housewives' and their millions of viewers to Rhode Island," McKee said in a news release. "Our state is home to vibrant communities, amazing food, rich history, and stunning coastal beauty – perfect for the spotlight. This is a great opportunity to support our local economy and bring national attention to all Rhode Island has to offer."
