Mayoral candidate VM Vinu's name missing from voters' list, huge setback for Congress in Kozhikode

KOZHIKODE: Congress faced yet another setback ahead of the local body polls in Kozhikode. Tensions brewed after the name of director VM Vinu, the Congress mayoral candidate, was found missing in the voters' list. Vinu, who was announced as a candidate from Kallayi, was busy continuing with his campaigning when the news surfaced. The Congress alleged a conspiracy over the incident of recurring irregularities in the voters' list.

Vinu had voted in the last assembly by-election and local body elections. Vinu had voted from the Malaparamba division. He had not moved to any other place or lived elsewhere.
