The Pittsburgh Steelers started to make a big change in their wide receiver rotation on Sunday in their 34-12 win over the Cincinnati Bengals .
Roman Wilson, the team’s third round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, has steadily received more of a role in the offense, but it now seems that he has overtaken Calvin Austin III as the team’s WR2.
Wilson outsnapped Austin significantly. The Michigan product played 37 snaps to Austin’s 19 snaps, and ran 13 more routes than Austin did on the day, too. It is clear when the Steelers went into their two wide receiver sets they rolled the ball out there for Wilson more than Austin.
