To check substandard seeds that adversely affect farmers, the Centre will introduce a new seed law in the budget session of the Parliament, Union Minister for Agriculture Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Monday. Expressing serious concern over the rising instances of poor quality seeds, Chouhan said, “The government is committed to ensuring high standards for which several measures have already been taken. The government will bring a new law to curb the poor quality seeds in the Parliament session.”
