EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - The teen suspect who police say shot Officer Sam Taylor is asking for his trial to be moved out of Vanderburgh County.

Court records show a “Change of Venue” motion was filed for 18-year-old Jailani Chew on Monday.

Evansville Police say Chew shot Officer Taylor on September 21.

His charges include attempted murder.

Chew was also charged in a separate shots fired incident that happened September 19.
