MESA, Ariz. — A plane with two people inside crashed near Mesa's Falcon Field on Monday morning, according to the city's police department.
The plane crash reportedly occurred near Greenfield and Brown roads. Two people escaped the crash safely with no injuries, according to police.
Officials said the plane, a Piper PA-28, was experiencing engine issues and attempted to land on the canal path. It then reportedly struck a block wall of a residence and caused damage to pool equipment.
Police said the pool equipment did have a gas line and Mesa Utilities responded to the scene.
No evacuations were needed, police said.
The plane is reportedly a small flight school aircraft carrier. The plane is registered to CAE, which operates out of Falcon Field, according to the FAA.
