New Jersey officials on Monday identified the 10-year-old boy and 21-year-old woman killed in a mass shooting in Newark over the weekend, vowing to find the person or people responsible.
Essex County Prosecutor Theodore Stephens said at a press briefing that Jordan Garcia, 10, and Kiyah Mae Scott, 21, were shot and killed Saturday evening on the 300 block of Chancellor Avenue. Three other people were struck: Garcia’s 11-year-old brother, who officials said was in stable condition Monday; 60-year-old Sheppard Miller, also in stable condition; and 19-year-old Masi Rogers, in critical condition.
